The Crew should be overjoyed to go into the half within a goal. The Rapids absolutely dominated the final 35 minutes of the half, barely allowing the Crew to put together any kind of sustained attack.
The Rapids midfield has had its way and Omar Cummings and Conor Casey have run rampant on the Crew backline.

The Crew came out strong, but were unable to get anything to show for their efforts and the momentum switched to the Rapids around the 10th minute.
The Crew are 1-8-3 this season when allowing the first goal and have not won any road matches against the Western Conference this season.

The MLS playoffs have a very different feel this year. While in years past there’s always been at least one team that didn’t seem to belong. Whether it was their losing record, their negative goal-difference or just a genuinely bad team it never seemed as MLS was able to fill its postseason roster with quality sides.
That finally appears to have changed with all eight teams posting winning records and positive goal-differences.
