Manchester City-Newcastle: Yaya Toure Off For Emmanuel Adebayor In 57th Minute

Roberto Mancini has made his first change of the match, bringing-on a largely silent Yaya Touré in favor of a second forward, Emmanuel Adebayor.

Though City has held two-thirds of the possession in the second half (a large uptick from their first half possession), the Citizens have been unable to meaningfully threaten a Newcastle defense that is sitting deeper than they did in the first half.

In response, Mancini has brought in Adebayor to attack the Sol Campbell, Mike Williamson pairing in Chris Hughton’s defense.

Moments after being brought on, Adebayor was played (and won) a long ball to the left of Newcastle’s central defense, taking a man with him as he gained possession near the byline, opening up space in the area for Carlos Tévez.

The match at Eastlands remains tied 1-1 in the 60th minute.
