A beautiful long ball behind Glen Johnson from Charlie Adam led to Luke Varney being taken down by the Liverpool right back, giving Blackpool a 29th minute penalty kick at Anfield. Adam then beat Pepe Reina from the spot to give Blackpool a 0-1 lead.

Liverpool comes into today’s match in 18th place. Blackpool sits 16th.
