First half goal from Niko Krancjar and Luka Modric held up for Slaven Bilic, with Croatia holding on for a 1-2 win over Israel despite a late Eric Schecter goal.

Israel, playing without captain Yossi Benayoun, who suffered an Achilles tendon tear this week, sit on four points in fourth place.
