Apparently the fourth time is a charm for Luca Banti. Four clear cut penalties have occurred in this match, but for the first time, the referee has given one.
A.C. Milan 2-1 Palermo: Ibrahimovic Converts A Penalty
Milan put together a great move, resulting in Massimo Ambrosini having the ball at his feet in the box. He appeared to have out-juked the keeper with Inzaghi in support, but he was hauled down by Salvatore Sirigu and Milan were granted the penalty. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who missed a penalty for Milan earlier this season, stepped up and slotted it home with an unsavable shot.
Incredibly, Pippo Inzaghi picked up a knock shortly afterwards and has was required to come off. After spending less than 15 minutes on the field, he was taken off for Robinho. Both Pato and Inzaghi appear to have picked up relatively serious injuries that seem like they should take both players out for at least the weekend’s matches. Allegri won’t be happy to be down two strikers, but Robinho and Ronaldinho are unlikely to be too broken up about the situation.
