How bad has it gotten in Dallas where the two biggest newspaper don't even have a FC Dallas-specific page on their websites?
Dallas Media Really Needs To Get On This Train
↵Bad enough for the team’s president to write an open letter basically asking fans to contact members of the local media and demand more coverage of a team that is one step away from its first appearance in the MLS Cup final.
↵That we’re at this point in 2010, during a World Cup year and talking about one of the best teams in MLS this year is nothing short of shameful.
↵I don’t know who deserves most of the blame for this — FC Dallas front office and public relations staff, ignorant editors or something else — but something needs to change.
↵MLS simply can’t afford to have a team wasting away in the country’s fourth-biggest media market. Good for FC Dallas for calling out the media on this, but I’ll be shocked if this strategy works for the longterm. Hopefully this run will help bring some positive attention to FC Dallas. But something is going to have to give in Dallas and MLS needs to start taking a critical view of what’s going on there.
