Wolverhampton 1-3 Bolton: Stuart Holden Scores, Ian Darke Redeemed

Bolton's visit to the Reebok has turned into a bit of a shootout, though with the Trotters having (at one time) built a 0-3 lead, sixth-place Bolton looks on track to climb the table at Wolverhampton's expense. With fifth place Newcastle currently drawn with Fulham, Bolton is 20 minutes from sitting fifth.

Second half goals Johan Elamander and Stuart Holden, five minutes apart, had Bolton ahead 0-3 in the 67th minute. Kevin Foley quickly brought one back for Wolves with his 69th minute tally, the minor barrage leaving the math 1-3 after 70 minutes.

Of particular note was Holden’s goal, his first Premier League tally in 14 starts, The U.S, international was in the right place when countryman Marcus Hanhemann left a rebound in front of goal, the Bolton midfielder left with an easy finish.

And somewhere near Birmingham (where he called this morning’s Villla-United match), Ian Darke defiantly shakes his fist at all of us smartasses who dared to mock last week’s Stuart Holden sycophancy. Damn you, Darke. You win this round.

Elsewhere around the league, Wigan Athletic has a goal from Victor Moses and lead West Brom 1-0. West Ham and Blackpool have combined for 24 shots but no goals. Fulham is starting to make headway at St. James's Park but are still even with the Toon, 0-0. Spurs have a brace from Gareth Bale to lead Blackburn 4-1, while Manchester City and Birmingham have build a time machine and sent us all back to when football was utterly unwatchable.

The match at Eastlands is tied 0-0.
