AC Milan look to erase the memories of their visit to Spain two weeks ago, in which Real Madrid won 2-0. Madrid sit at the top of Group G, five points clear of Milan, who are coming off a 2-1 loss to Juventus at the weekend. The Rossoneri will be looking to forward Zlatan Ibrahimović, who has four goals in eight Serie A matches, to guide their attack. Madrid, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last twenty games in all competitions, and José Mourinho certainly isn’t going to want to break that streak on his first return to the San Siro since he left Inter Milan in the summer.
UEFA Champions League Preview: AC Milan v Real Madrid
Madrid have never won at the San Siro, but a draw will be sufficient for Los Merengues to advance. Still, it's nearly impossible to believe that Mourinho will be willing to settle for just a point, and Milan will need to concentrate on shoring up their defense if they want to stop the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored 12 goals in eight matches in league play. It was the mistakes in the back that led to the two Juventus goals at the weekend, and similar mistakes that brought the 2-0 win for Madrid two weeks ago. Fortunately for the Rossoneri, Thiago Silva is fit after missing action with an ankle problem, providing a stronger partnership for Alessandro Nesta and making it easier to contain the threat of Gonzalo Higuain. Gianluca Zambrotta also returns for Madrid and will be tasked with closing down Ronaldo, which is never a fun job.
