    Alan Shearer Rumored To Be Interested In Rovers Return

    According to recent reports from The Telegraph, Blackburn’s new owners, the VH Group, have pledged £30M in transfer funds to strengthen the club over the course of the next three years. While the manager in charge of Blackburn to spend those set aside funds is still unknown, former Newcastle manager and player and former Blackburn player Alan Shearer has emerged as a likely candidate.

    While former first team coach Steve Kean will likely oversee Blackburn’s transfers in January, it is also understood that Kean will only be given two to three months to prove he’s the man to take Rovers to the next step. On Wednesday, the VH Group’s chairman Anuradha Desai spoke about Kean’s appointment and future:

    Disgarding Pragamatism For Ambition, Blackburn Rovers Sack Sam Allardyce

    This should be good. Another managerial departure in the English Premier League. Another sacking few saw coming.

    Allardyce came in, kept a sinking ship afloat, and has since stabilized Rovers. Unfortunately, he has done so with predictably brutal effect, exemplified with his deploying a 5-4-1 formation to start Saturday’s match at Bolton. Allardyce ended-up losing that Lancashire Derby 2-1, Blackburn’s first loss to their local rivals in five years, a defeat made more poignant for the Trotters playing down a man for most of the second half. That, surprisingly, was the last straw.
