Manchester United Vs. Arsenal: Gunners Dealing With United Pressure, Still Coming Into Match

Manchester United has continued to control the match's opening minutes, and while Arsenal has adjusted to the pressure United exerted in the match's opening moments, they've still failed to fully come into the contest. While Arsenal made some encouraging connections in the eighth and ninth minutes, building some momentum going into United's half, the hosts have controlled the ball, generating once speculative shot for Wayne Rooney, a cross in from the right, and two dead ball chances.

The first of the dead ball opportunities, earned after Arsenal gave a foul along their left flank, met with poor service from Anderson. The second chance led to United's second shot on goal, a shot from 38 yards out from Nani that dipped into Wojciech Szczesny;s arms, the `keeper calmly collecting the ball in the middle of goal.

At the end of the 14th minute, Arsenal had their first chance to string together some short passes at the edge of the area. A lay-off by Marouane Chamakh for Jack Wilshire was broken-up by Nemanja Vidic, thwarting the Gunners' first entry into the United area.

Now in the 16th minute, Manchester United and Arsenal are still scoreless.
