Bolton has found an insurance goal at the Reebok, a 86th minute tally that will put their match against West Bromwich Albion in the bag. With a right footed finish by Johan Elmander from four yards out, the Trotters have a 2-0 lead over the Baggies and look at to climb to fifth in the English Premier League.
Bolton Wanderers Vs. West Bromwich Albion: Johan Elmander Finds Insurance Goal, Puts Trotters Up 2-0
The goal was built down the right side, with a long ball knocked down (and around) by Kevin Davies to an oncoming Elmander, The Swede dribbled through the Baggies defense before squaring a ball of Ivan Klasnic. That ball was blocked by a sliding defender, with the redirected ball coming back to Elmander. Scott Carson was unable to track the ball quick to deny Elmander, who gave Bolton their insurance goal.
For much of the half, West Brom looked the more likely team to score, but now carrying a 2-0 lead into stoppage time, Owen Coyle's men are poised to pass Sunderland and Tottenham and assume fifth place, if only temporarily. Sunderland has lost at Old Trafford to Manchester United while Spurs will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. Eastern at Villa Park.
