Sunderland Vs. Blackpool: DJ Campbell Gives Cinderella Another Dance At The Ball

After a half that left Sunderland wondering when they would break through, an early second half goal from Blackpool has left the Black Cats wondering how they will catch-up. DJ Campbell, the once threatening player for the Tangerines in the first half, has volleyed the visitors to a 50th minute lead, adding another chapter to the Seasiders' every-expanding Cinderella saga.

On a cross from the right flank, attacker Gary Fletcher-Taylor flicked a ball toward the middle from 13 yards out. Just outside the six, the ball dropped onto the right foot of Campbell, who one-timed a shot into the right of Craig Gordon's net, giving Blackpool a 1-0 lead.

A series of cancellations have had Blackpool out of action since December 11, and after all of Darren Bent, Danny Welbeck and Asamoah Gyan has scoring chances in the first half, Blackpool seemed both rusty and outgunned. After intermission, the Seasiders have rewritten the script, something they've become accustoming to doing.
