West Brom Vs. Blackburn: More Corner Kick Fun Gives Mame Biram Diouf Rovers’ Third Goal
The short corner was played to El Hadji Diouf who, temporarily with his back to goal, faked going down-field before turning on his right foot, swinging his left onto a cross. The ball dipped perfectly into the middle of the area, right at the six yard's edge, allowed Mame Biram Diouf to come from the far side for a diving goal, his third of the season.
While West Brom has controlled nearly two-thirds of possession, they’ve had no scoring chances since intermission. Instead, it’s Blackburn who has gained control of the game, not only on the scoresheet but through the run of play. Less flowing action and more direct play has played into Rovers’ hands, enabling their two goal lead.
