Liverpool Vs. Aston Villa: David N’Gog Heads Reds To Early Lead

A lively start to Monday night’s English Premier League match has led to an early Liverpool lead, thanks to David N’Gog. The young French striker powered a header past Brad Friedel to give the Reds a 1-0 lead after 13 minutes.

The goal came from a corner kick taken from the right of Aston Villa goal. An out-swinging corner kick found an oncoming N’Gog in the middle of the penalty area, with the Liverpool attacker rising to head home his second goal of the season.

N’Gog has become a regular in the team thanks to injuries to Steven Gerrard and Joe Cole, forcing N’Gog into the starting lineup along side Fernando Torres. Today, N’Gog is partnered by Ryan Babel, with Torres out while attending the birth of his child.

With a win today, Liverpool would jump into eighth place. Aston Villa would stay 16th, two points above the drop.
