It was a goal against the run of play and one that only took a minute to construct and execute once the second half started. Sylvain Distin has leveled the score at Anfield with what is his first Premier League goal with Everton. When a scramble for possession inside of the box produced a corner for Everton, Leighton Baines sent in a peach of a ball to the far post where Distin was waiting to head home.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina did his best to keep out the strong header yet the ball actually ended up going through the Spaniards legs and the Liverpool defenders who were stationed on the line were also unable to keep out Distin's effort. So only seconds in, the Merseyside Derby is tied at 1-1.
The only other bit of news to report as the second half is in its early stages is Kenny Dalglish's second half substitution: Sotirios Kyrgiakos on for Daniel Agger.
