Barcelona began to come out of their shells for the last ten minutes of the first half, but a mixture of last-ditch defending from Levante and solid goalkeeping from Reina has kept the match scoreless. Pep Guardiola will surely be demanding a far more inventive second half from his side, and he will be looking for greater contributions from the likes of Bojan, Pedro and David Villa who have all struggled to impose themselves on the match. The only player who has looked capable of breaking the deadlock is Andres Iniesta, who has been at his creative best, almost opening the scoring with an exquisite curler and looking dangerous every time he gets on the ball.

Credit must go to Levante though as they have kept Barcelona at bay for most of the first 45 minutes and have even created a couple of chances of their own as they look dangerous on the break. They could even have been awarded a penalty when Juanlu was clipped by Abidal in the box on 20 minutes, but their protests were waved away by Perez Lasa. Barcas unorthodox back four have looked extremely uncertain when put under any pressure, so the away side will surely look to come forward a little more as we enter the second half.
