Manchester United Vs. Birmingham City: Early Header From Dimitar Berbatov Puts United Up 1-0 At Home

It took Manchester United all of 90 or so seconds to find the breakthrough against Birmingham City at home. When John O'Shea flicked on from a Ryan Giggs corner, Dimitar Berbatov nipped in to head past Ben Foster from close range. 1-0 after two minutes, could United supporters be in for an emphatic home win against Brum?

In other match news, Chris Smalling is making a start in Rio Ferdinand's place and the already mentioned O'Shea is filling in for the suspended Rafael. Anderson and Michael Carrick are holding down the midfield while Wayne Rooney joins Berbatov up front in attack.

David Bentley has made his first start for Brum and Alex McLeish has elected to start Matt Derbyshire in a lone striker role in favor of Cameron Jerome. Now after 10 minutes, United are on the front foot, dominant in possession and have just taken their third corner of the day. Brum have been poor and wasteful in possession and will need to be staunch at the back if they are to avoid a heavy defeat.
