Fulham FC Vs. Liverpool FC: 1-0 Liverpool At Full Time

John Pantsil's strange own goal proved the difference between Liverpool and Fulham at Anfield, although Fulham will be wishing they had several chances back. Moussa Dembele should have netted at least twice for the visitors, and had a glorious chance to level matters with just minutes to go, volleying straight at Pepe Reina from four yards out after Clint Dempsey had found him with a flicked header.

Of course, if Fulham had scored and gone on to draw, Liverpool would have been rightly aggrieved by the bizarre decision to rule out a perfectly legitimate Fernando Torres goal for offside. Overall, then three points for Liverpool was just about what they deserved. Fulham failed to take their chances, Liverpool took theirs, had it not count, and then were simply given a goal back when Pantsil decided to walk the ball over his own goal line. Three points is three points, though the home side (and especially Steve Gerrard) weren't particularly impressive in their win. Liverpool move up to 7th place, one point ahead of Blackburn Rovers, while Fulham remain stuck in 15th.
