Moments ago the update on Fernando Torres had the Spaniard in Liverpool awaiting permission to travel to London to finalize his move to Chelsea. Now comes word from the story's most reliable source that the final cog in the Andy Carroll-to-Liverpool, Fernando Torres-to-Chelsea puzzle is falling into place. El Niño is on the move:
Fernando Torres Set For Medical With Chelsea, Ready To Complete Transfer From Liverpool
Yes,all done chelsea-torres-lpl pending medical. £50m.As said earlier,Torres will leave soon for London to have medical. He hasnt had one yet
This development coincides with Carroll being in motion from Newcastle to Liverpool, where he will undergo the same process Torres faces in London: medical, and then crash negotiations over a new contract. Something tells me, though, that Torres's negotiations won't last long. Carroll's however, with Liverpool having made a very late play for the England international, may be more dicey, but with the 22-year-old striker having yet to fully cash-in on his success, Liverpool may not need to break the bank to offer Carroll improved wages.
All of this piles onto a dizzying weekend for Reds supporters. Whereas Friday the first reports of Chelsea's raid had started to be fleshed out, now Liverpool looks to have completely rebuilt their side, a new attack of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez being fed by Charlie Adam, also on his way to Liverpool to try and agree to terms.
