Wolves Vs. Chelsea: Converted Corner Sees Wolves Score In Fourth Minute

It took only four minutes for Wolves to add to Chelsea's miseries. The defending champions, coming off a weekend draw at Stamford Bridge against Aston Villa, have given up an early goal to Wolves, with Steven Fletcher tapping in a corner kick which, flicked on my George Elokobi, was left to trickle along Petr Cech's line.

Editor’s Note: On replay (and subsequently confirmed), Fletcher never touched the ball before it went in, with the ball deflecting off defender José Bosingwa and past Cech for Wolves’ opener.

The goal start with a corner kick from the right of corner. Elokobi made a near post run that took him beyond goal, playing the short corner. A clever left-footed flick sent the ball along the goal line, barely eluding Cech. Two Wolves had made their way to the line, the closest, Fletcher, putting through the early, surprise goal.

Wolves sit bottom of the table, and despite Chelsea's struggles since the beginning of November, they were not given much chance today versus the Blues. Seeing both Fletcher and Kevin Doyle's names in the starting XI was a boost for fans a The Molineux - a sign Mick McCarthy was going to go after his guests. Now in the 12th minute, Wolves remain on top, 1-0 over the defending champions.
