MLS Mock Draft: New England Revolution Select Corey Hertzog With Sixth Pick
Kevin McCauley (SB Nation): It was a very difficult decision between two players, with Will Bruin being the more physical of the two top college strikers in the draft and Hertzog being a little quicker. I still think that Herzog is more than big enough to be successful, even if he isn't the ox that Bruin is. Additionally, Bruin is more MLS ready, while Hertzog has a higher ceiling. Once again, while Bruin is more MLS ready, this doesn't mean that Hertzog can't contribute next season. The Revs aren't winning MLS Cup next season, so I'm going with the guy that I think has a higher ceiling.
Drew Epperley (WV Hooligan): I thought New England would go with Bruin but Hertzog is every bit as good as Bruin. The need for offense is obvious for Steve Nicol and this pick makes perfect sense. Hertzog is a clutch finisher, something that isn't always easy to find.
