MLS Mock Draft: San Jose Earthquakes Select Jason Herrick With 33rd Overall Pick

Robert Jonas (Center Line Soccer): As mentioned previously, the Earthquakes will be looking at players in the SuperDraft that can provide some scoring punch. With all three of the current forwards on the roster versatile enough to also play midfield — and head coach Frank Yallop has shown he likes their positional interchangeability — another forward in that vein might be in the cards at this point in the SuperDraft. Jason Herrick was a leader for the high-scoring Maryland Terrapins, and should bring that confidence and scoring touch with him to San Jose. By going with a second forward in as many picks this season, the Quakes address their most pressing need for the 2011 season.

Drew Epperley (WV Hooligan): Another forward for the Quakes in this draft? Can't blame them though, Herrick is easily the best option available at this point. He's a quality finisher and one that has no problems finding the back of the net.
