Bayer Leverkusen will be without the services of midfielder Renato Augusto for several weeks due to a knee surgery that will take place later this week.
Renato Augusto Out Several Weeks With Knee Injury
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Renato Augusto is set to miss several weeks due to a knee operation.

The Brazilian, 23, will head to Rio de Janeiro to have the surgery completed by the Brazilian national team surgeon Dr. José Luiz Runco. Augusto has had problems for some time due to his kneecap, and the surgery is expected to provide some welcome relief. After the operation, he will return to the Leverkusen training and rehabilitation center at the BayArena.
Augusto has struggled this season notching only one assist and no goals in seven league appearances, however, Leverkusen will miss his presence in the lineup. While they haven’t played up to their potential yet this year, they only sit six points behind table toppers Bayern Munich. This will be the fourth knee surgery for a Leverkusen player this season after Rene Adler, Tranquillo Barnetta and Michael Ortega.
