Stoke City Vs. Fulham, 2011 Premier League: Potters Leave It Late In 2-0 Win

You'd have been forgiven for seeing Stoke City and Fulham tied at 0-0 at halftime and assuming that that's the way the match would end. In fact, that state would continue well into the second half before the deadlock was broken with two Stoke goals in quick succession. It was a bit of a comedown for Fulham, who managed just one shot on Amsir Begovic's goal after scoring six time against Queens Park Rangers last time out.

Stoke weren't really much better, but they finally managed to get a shot past Mark Scwharzer in the 80th minute, when Jonathan Walters diverted a Matthew Etherington effort into the back of the net from close range. That always looked like it was going to be the winner, and Rory Delap made sure of the points seven minutes later when the long throw specialist got on the end of a free kick to nod home. That's an important three points for Stoke, whose position in the top half after a strong start to the season has been rather threatened of late. As for Fulham, it looks as though that huge win against QPR was a bit of a false dawn.
