Thierry Henry got the boot. Kevin Stott determined that he kneed Roger Espinoza in the back of the head, showed the Frenchman a red card and that was the end of Henry's day. Simple and done, right? Not quite The question is whether Henry deserved the red card.

Espinoza was down on the turf and he had just gotten into a but of a tussle with Henry so an angry Henry taking a shot at Espinoza is possible, but did he run into Espinoza on purpose? Maybe as importantly, even if it wasn’t clearly deliberate, did Henry deserve the red card because he had plenty of time and space to avoid Espinoza, but didn’t?

As important as Henry putting his team down a man against Sporting, they will be without him in their season finale now. Not so good for a team just barely hanging onto the final playoff spot.
