As expected, BATE Borisov didn't have the quality to match AC Milan. That's not to say Milan played particularly well. They were somewhat lazy and generally uninspired, but they didn't have to be up for the match. They were that much better than BATE and cruised to an easy 2-0 victory. The win puts them level with Barcelona atop Group H and just about guarantees that the two will advance to the knockout stages as they hold a six-point lead over the BATE and Viktoria Plzen.
AC Milan Vs. BATE Borisov, 2011 UEFA Champions League: Rossoneri Win Easily
Zlatan Ibrahimovic got Milan going with a strike in the 33rd minute. Alberto Aquilani got the first chance at goal, but his shot was blocked. The ball fell right to Ibrahimovic though, who struck the ball well and beat Aleksander Gutor for the opening tally. A 70th minute goal by Kevin-Prince Boateng sealed the win for Milan and it was a pretty goal too. The Ghanaian brought a long ball down with a great first touch then ripped a rocket of a shot from more than 20 yards that hit the underside of the crossbar and went in for a great goal that livened up an otherwise boring and expected win for the hosts.
