When the Philadelphia Union joined MLS prior to the 2010 season, one of the aspects that got the league buzzing was another element to the Atlantic rivalry. As they are in virtually every sport, Philadelphia and New York were supposed to be a key element. If previous matches in the rivalry didn’t raise it to derby level, the Brotherly Game thinks Thursday’s game at Red Bull Arena will put it there:
More Than 1,200 Union Fans Expected To Travel To Red Bull Arena - Brotherly Game
The Union will have at least 800 fans at Red Bull Arena (RBA), with a Sons of Ben source telling the Brotherly Game that Philadelphia supporters could number up to 1200 people by game time. If 1200 Union fans make it to RBA, then it’ll number among the highest number of away supporters ever at MLS regular season game.
