Schalke Sign Timo Hildebrand Until The End Of The Season
FC Schalke 04 have announced the signing of goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand to a contract until the end of the 2010-2011 season.

The former German international has been without a contract since the end of last season when Sporting Lisbon decided to pass on re-signing the goalkeeper. Hildebrand spent the summer with Manchester City on their tour of the United States, but he was unable to earn a contract offer. Since the start of the season, he’s been training with 2.Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt without a contract. The last time that Hildebrand was the number one goalkeeper for a club was the 2009-2010 season when he featured 28 times for Hoffenheim.
Lars Unnerstall, 21, will remain the number one goalkeeper for this weekend’s match against Bayer Leverkusen, but Hildebrand could see his debut Wednesday the 26th in the DFB Pokal second round match against Karlsruher SC.
