Stuttgart’s Pavel Pogrebnyak Injures Ankle
VfB Stuttgart forward Pavel Pogrebnyak suffers an ankle injury in training and will miss the next four weeks.

An MRI scan post-training showed that Pogrebnyak tore two ligaments and suffered damage to the syndesmosis ligament. On the club’s website, Pogrebnyak was quoted as saying:
“I was headed in the right direction and had earned myself a place in the starting eleven. I am very saddened by this injury. It’s a bitter pill, but I will continue to battle on.”
Pogrebnyak may not be a huge loss from Stuttgart from a scoring perspective. He is currently sitting on a grand total of one goal scored. His play over the last two matches against Kaiserslautern and Hoffenheim was much improved, and he seemed to generally be rounding into better form.
Stuttgart currently sit 5th in the table on 17 points, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
