After a slew of substitutions, this match has gotten incredibly interesting. Chelsea have withdrawn John Obi Mikel and Ramires for Romelu Lukaku and Raul Meireles, while Arsenal have brought on Tomas Rosicky to solidify their midfield, withdrawing their best player on the night, Theo Walcott. Arsene Wenger is likely now regretting that change, as he needs Walcott on the pitch again. Chelsea have equalized the match at 3-3, thanks to a stunner by Juan Mata.
Chelsea Vs. Arsenal Live, 2011 Premier League: Juan Mata Equalizes With Stunning Goal
Lukaku likely committed a foul on the move, backing into and knocking down Andre Santos, but there’s no taking away from Mata’s finish. With Santos down on the ground, Meireles picked up the ball on the right side and put a great pass into the middle for Mata. Arsenal closed him down, but the Spaniard was still able to rip a jaw-dropping left-footed shot into the top corner, leveling the match through 81 minutes.
Scoring done? Don’t count on it.
