We're off and running at the Stadio Olimpico in Roma vs. AC Milan. The visitors started out doing much of the attacking, but it's Roma who've had the first real chance, with Mark van Bommel having to scramble to clear out a cross that left Christian Abbiati looking like a deer frozen in the headlights. The ball sat in the six-yard box for what seemed like an age before van Bommel cleared for a corner, which Roma promptly wasted.

Anyway, that’s the best chance of the match so far, but it’s hardly been dull - both sides are spoiling the Serie A stereotype by committing to an open, attacking game, and we’re almost certainly going to see goals (I’ve jinxed us into a 0-0 draw with that, of course). Milan are probably better in buildup play, but the hosts are doing their best to ruin the defending champions’ day by pressing hard on the counterattack, and you’d have to say that they’re edging it so far.
