Inter Vs. Juventus, 2011 Serie A: Rizzoli Goes Yellow-Card Happy

Andrea Pirlo just picked up the latest yellow card for Juventus, apparently given for an elbow on Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder. That yellow, with 20 minutes left to go, made me wonder -- who in the Derby d'Italia hasn't been shown a pretty yellow piece of paper?

For Juventus, in addition to Pirlo, Leonardo Bocci, Giorgio Chiellini, Arturo Vidal and Simone Pepe all have yellow cards -- yet for some reason Antonio Conte pulled of Alessandro Matri, who's been immense this match, and somehow doesn't hold a card, in favor of new boy Marcelo Estigarribia.

As for the home side, only two nerazzurri have gone into the book: Sneijder and Cristian Chivu. Though for all the dramatics of Maicon, the beating of his head, the wailing, the gnashing of teeth, you’d think Nicola Rizzoli would show the Brazilian a yellow simply for being utterly annoying. It’s not as through the referee is card-shy.
