The Seattle Sounders' first fraction of a chance was a long ball over the top that was expertly cleared by Jamison Olave, and since turnabout is fair play, Real Salt Lake try the same trick, targetting the Seattle right. They're a little more successful - Jeff Parke can't really deal with it and eventually results in a free kick for RSL.

He probably ought to have done better there. Anyway, it's 0-0 at the Rio Tinto, and right now it's the hosts who're having the better of things. Seattle's defence is nowhere near as calm as RSL's - could the postseason nerves be striking the rave green once again? They might be affecting Fabian Espondola, who wastes a promising situation by ballooning a pathetic long-range shot well high.
