Real Salt Lake Vs. Seattle Sounders Live, MLS Cup Playoffs 2011: Kasey Keller Forced Into Game’s First Saves

There's the game's first save, and it comes from veteran goalkeeper Kasey Keller. Considering the shape of the match so far, it's a little surprising that it is a) from open play and b) not a header. Instead, it's a neat long-range effort from Will Jonhons, who cut in from the left, laughing at James Riley's attempts to stop him, and unleashing a strong right footed shot that Keller does well to keep the ball away from the onrushing Real Salt Lake forwards.

There's another decent chance for the hosts a few seconds later as the Seattle Sounders defence once again finds itself easily penetrated, but the final ball gets nicked off the feet of Fabian Espindola and Keller can gather. Shortly thereafter, a quick one-two bamboozles Jeff Parke, forcing Keller into another save (and a good one). The subsequent corner is nodded just wide by Javier Morales. In other words, if you're a Sounders fan, things aren't really going well so far. Too much giving the ball away, not enough retrieval of 50/50 balls. Still 0-0 at the Rio Tinto, but for how long is anyone's guess.
