Borussia Dortmund were anything but their brilliant best against a gritty and physical Olympiacos team on Tuesday night, but they did enough to manage a 1-0 win and get back into contention for a UEFA Champions League knockout stage place. Kevin Grosskreutz scored the game’s only goal, firing in an absolute rocket in the 7th minute to give his team a much needed three points.

Mario Götze provided the assist with a great pass, his seventh for BVB this season in all competitions. The goal was much more about the scorer, though, as Grosskreutz hit a powerful and accurate shot into the back of the net from 25 yards out.
After the goal, the game was a relatively dull affair, with the only decent chances coming on long shots and set pieces. BVB are now three points behind Marseille and four points behind Arsenal, but control their own destiny in terms of securing a knockout stage place.
