New York start out on the attack with Joel Lindpere winning a corner on the left - the same corner David Beckham recorded his assist from in the first half, actually. His delivery isn't nearly as successful, but the visitors retain possession.

They lose it again twenty seconds later, but at least it ends with a shot on goal, with Luke Rodgers finding himself at the end of a neat long pass by Dax McCarty but only able to send a looping header for Josh Saunders to claim. The hosts mount their first foray forward of the half shortly thereafter, but Landon Donovan shows some solidarity with teammate Robbie Keane by making a complete mess of it. Sloppy.
