Maybe referee Mark Geiger took pity on the Houston Dynamo because they had already lost Brad Davis to injury. Maybe he was just scared to send a man off and have such a big impact on such a big match. Whatever the reasoning though, Geiger didn't show Calen Carr the second yellow he deserved and Houston is lucky to still be playing with 11 men.
Sporting Kansas City Vs. Houston Dynamo Live, MLS Cup Playoffs 2011: Calen Carr Should Be Sent Off
It was a simple play in which Carr came in very late on a tackle and clipped a Sporting Kansas City player's ankle. Nothing malicious or anything of the sort, but it was a play that is a yellow card every single time, except for this time of course for reasons that only Geiger can explain.
