Lyon and Marseille both overcame long odds in order to move onto the next phase of the Champions League and they’ll look to ride that momentum towards the top of the table.

    Ligue 1, Week 15 Saturday Scores: Marseille And Montpellier Slip Up While PSG Wins

    Just when the title race in Ligue 1 was starting to get extremely interesting, the status quo has been restored. After a Saturday of action that saw league leaders Montpellier lose and surging Marseille draw, Paris Saint-Germain is very much back in the driver’s seat, thanks to a win over Marvin Martin and Sochaux.

    Sometimes relegation six-pointers are fun! Ajaccio had a 2-1 lead heading into stoppage time before Daniel George Niculae struck a late equalizer. Those two dropped points will keep Ajaccio firmly planted at the bottom of the table, six points from safety. It does not reflect well on Nancy’s chances to avoid the drop if they needed a late home equalizer against the team with the worst goal differential in France.

    A game between the bottom two teams in Ligue 1. Hooray! The thing that really sucks is that they aren’t bad in a way that could ever be described as even remotely entertaining. To be fair to Nancy there are almost certainly worse teams in the league and they probably won’t finish in one of the bottom two spots. To be fair to Ajaccio, it’s pretty there.
