Barcelona are going to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, where they will face Santos FC and their young stars Neymar, Ganso, Arouca and Danilo. It’s the final everyone wanted, and it will be worth it for those in the western world to wake up early to watch it. Unfortunately, the biggest story that came out of Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Al-Sadd was not their performance, but the injury to David Villa.

Villa’s injury is a broken leg and he will be out for up to six months. Though he was arguably on the verge of losing his first team place, it’s still a massive blow to the Cules’ season.
Regardless, the Blaugranas’ performance was a good one and Al-Sadd were never in the match. Despite the fact that their team is made up almost entirely of full internationals, with four of those starting XI players coming from nations other than Qatar, the Asian champions didn’t have a chance against the European champions.
Adriano, playing in place of Dani Alves, scored two goals for Barcelona in the first half to put the game to rest early. Fellow unlikely goal-scorers Maxwell and Seydou Keita added the third and fourth goals in the second half. These were the four goal-scorers, despite the fact that Lionel Messi, Pedro, Villa, Andres Iniesta and Thiago Alcantara started. Alexis Sanchez and Isaac Cuenca both came off the bench. Football!
