Paris Saint-Germain and Lille battled it out to a disappointing 0-0 draw at the Parc de Princes. With top spot on the line, PSG failed to push for a win and Lille, not wanting to fall any further behind leaders Montpellier, were more or less ok with that. The visitors tend to be reliant on Eden Hazard to provide a spark, but the young Belgian was far from impressive, only providing intermittent creative moments in a game that was pretty thoroughly dull until the very end.
Paris Saint-Germain Vs. Lille, 2011 Ligue 1: Heavyweights Disappoint In 0-0 Snoozer
Lille will take heart in keeping PSG off the scoresheet, although truth be told it was a pretty woeful attacking display from the hosts, who managed to make a complete mess of the few clear-cut chances they actually generated. Towards the end of the match, Lille sensed that their opponents were there for the taking and threw bodies forward, and started to give goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu some real problems. Fortunately for PSG, the final whistle came to the rescue. Had the game been played at the sort of pace it ended at from the beginning, it might have been interesting. As it was... well, it wasn't.
