Udinese Vs. Juventus, 2011 Serie A Week 16: It’s All Black And White

Juventus are unbeaten, but Udinese have won all seven at the Friuli. Who will give? Find out on Wednesday.

The visit of Juventus to the Stadio Friuli, where they take on Udinese, is undoubtedly the most exciting match of Week 16 in Serie A. Something’s got to give: Juventus remain unbeaten, while Udinese have a 100 percent home record, having won all seven of their matches in Udine this season. They’ve also conceded just two goals at the Friuli, reaffirming Francesco Guidolin’s transition from fluid, attacking play toward a solid, defensive unit. If ever you’re wondering how Udinese can survive, and even prosper, while consistently selling their best players, look at their manager, who is able to adapt his style to that of his players, rather than force the players to adapt to his.

Of course, Antonio Conte hasn't been too shabby, either, taking a team that was wildly inconsistent last season, arranging them in a 4-3-3, and then just letting them surge the goal. That's not to say that Juventus aren't without weaknesses, both in finishing and in defense. While Udinese might tend more towards defensiveness these days, that's not to say they're not still a legitimate threat when they go forward. Giorgio Chiellini and, even more so, Leonardo Bonucci will find it difficult to deal with the likes of Mauricio Isla and Dusan Basta -- although the bianconeri won't be too concerned if Antonio Di Natale wins a penalty, not after Gigi Buffon saved one from Francesco Totti against Roma.
