Diouf, 24, was an excellent player for Norwegian club Molde FK where he caught the eye of Manchester United scouts. He joined the club in England in January 2010. He was not able to break into the United first team and spent the entire 2010-2011 season on loan with Blackburn Rovers.

“I’m happy to be bringing in Mame Diouf,” Slomka said. “He brings an alternative for our attack. We have to focus on integrating him quickly in order for him to help us in the Bundesliga and Europa League.”

Hannover Agree To Take Mame Biram Diouf On Loan From Manchester United

Hannover sporting director Jorg Schmadtke confirmed the impending signing on Friday, stating, “we have an agreement with Manchester United, but now the player must give us the okay.”

Diouf was a fine striker for Molde before United brought him on, but he never found his footing with the Red Devils and has only played in their three Carling Cup matches this season. The 24-year-old spent last season on loan with Blackburn and how looks set for another loan, this time in Germany. He won’t be in for an easy run of matches at Hannover either though. Mohammed Abdellaoue is certainly not about to be displaced as starting striker and even displacing Jan Schlaudraff will be difficult so Diouf isn’t in for a run of starts anytime soon.

Dimitar Berbatov Unlikely To Return To Bayer Leverkusen

Berbatov has 47 goals in 105 league games for Manchester United, but he still isn’t first choice and has been linked to various moves for the last couple of years. Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan have been linked to moves and Tottenham fans would like him back, but it doesn’t appear that Berbatov is going anywhere. He will be the subject of more rumors during the summer, but it looks very likely that the Bulgarian will be sticking around through January.
