Early in the second half, West Ham has cut West Brom’s lead to two and are now experiencing a surge, thanks to Demba Ba. The former Hoffenheim man, on the end of a long ball out of the back, overpowered his opposition, sending a West Brom defender to the ground at eight yards from goal. Trapping the ball and turning toward goal, Ba beat Boaz Myhill for his second West Ham goal, bringing his team within two, 3-1.
West Brom Vs. West Ham: Demba Ba Brings Hammers Within Two
It’s unlikely the goal will spur a West Ham comeback, given the hole the Hammers have dug for themselves. Additionally, though they’ve scored a goal, the Hammers still look like a collection of talented if independent pieces, all trying but not acting in unison.
That may be enough to make this match interesting. With 40 minutes to go, the Hammers have found reason for hope, now down only 3-1.
