Arsenal Vs. Barcelona: Gunners About To Face The Game’s Boss - The Short Fuse
For today's UEFA Champions League match between Arsenal and Barcelona, SB Nation's Arsenal FC community blog, The Short Fuse, is under no illusions about who their squad is up against. Barcelona is the best team in the world and have been for some time, recently reaching heights that have left most searching for new ways to describe their play, new comparisons to put their results into context.
The Short Fuse’s Ted Harwood has found one that makes sense. At least, it makes sense to all us Gen Z’ers:
Indeed, Barcelona are a bit like a tricky boss in a video game--eight times out of ten, they will annihilate their opponent either instantly or over the long haul. The chinks in their armor are small, but are nonetheless present, and with enough patience, luck, and pattern recognition, they can be slowly taken apart.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, they’re facing UEFA’s boss three levels before the end of the game. Were they meeting in the final, the Gunners would have to outplay Barcelona for 90 minutes. At this point in the competition, they’ll have to win a 180 minute match, giving Barça twice as much time to assert their superiority. As Arsenal learned last year, staying with Barcelona over an additional 90 is much more difficult than finding a way to get a 90-minute result.
But in their preview of today’s match, SB Nation’s Arsenal FC blog is under no illusions regarding today’s task. For that, as well as all your Arsenal FC news, you can visit The Short Fuse.
