Manchester United Vs. Crawley Town: 1-0 United At Halftime

It’s about what we were expecting from Old Trafford. Manchester United have most of the ball, Crawley Town are defending reasonably well but look a little lost when in front of goal. Wes Brown’s headed goal at the half hour mark marked the beginning of a major spell of dominance from the home side, and United have wasted several chances to put the game to bed already, with Gabriel Obertan the prime offender. It shouldn’t matter, however - Crawley’s main striker Matt Tubbs doesn’t really look to have the quality to threaten the centre back pairing of Brown and John O’Shea.

The more Crawley have to press for an equaliser, the more they’ll tire out trying to chase the ball (Darron Gibson and Michael Carrick have settled down since the goal). Expect several more Manchester United goals after the break unless there’s an early goal from the non-leaguers. Considering their play so far, I wouldn’t bet much money on that.
