Oh dear me Marouane Chamakh. Arsenal left back Kieran Gibbs wove his way into the Leyton Orient penalty area and found the Morrocan forward free at the top of the box. Chamakh had the option of either hammering the ball home or squaring to an unmarked Nicklas Bendtner, and chose to average these two potential choices, passing right to the keeper with a rather gentle tap of his right instep. You'd have put a lot of money on Arsenal taking the lead there, but there's a good reason Chamakh no longer sees much time with the Arsene Wenger's first team. Minutes later, right back Bacary Sagna whipped in a dangerous looking cross which would have troubled the Orient defenders far more if Andrei Arshavin was more than four foot tall.
Leyton Orient Vs. Arsenal: Chamakh Wastes Chance, Charlie Daniels Nearly Makes Him Pay
At the other end, a bad mistake from Sebastian Squillaci led to a corner, which eventually resulted in a cracking 25-yard shot from left back Charlie Daniels. Manuel Almunia was well beaten, but the strike flew just over the bar with the stadium bracing itself for an explosion of noise. Close call for Goliath, there. David might be finding his range.
