Leyton Orient's defending, which had been fairly competent for the opening half hour, has fallen apart a little bit now, generating good chances for both Marouane Chamakh and Nicklas Bendtner. First Kieran Gibbs sent in a low, teasing cross that was deflected into Chamahk's path, and less than a minute later the Moroccan set up Bentdner with a lay-back after a long ball had found the striker almost clear of the defence. Estimated combined yards off target? 35-40. Oops.
Leyton Orient Vs. Arsenal: Chamakh and Bendtner Off Target. Again.
Andrei Arshavin has put forth a much better effort from a difficult angle - this one buzzed the side netting - but with Arsenal's best chances being spurned by frankly incompetent finishing, one has to wonder if the visitors are ever actually going to score. On the plus side from the visitor's standpoint, it doesn't look like Orient are going to prove overly problematic from open play, although the home side do look rather dangerous from corner kicks.
Oh, and the colour commentator has just described Bendtner dodging a slide tackle as ‘lazy’. Well then!
