Arsenal centre back Sebastian Squillaci has just spared his team's blushes by getting himself in the way of a very, very hard hit shot by Leyton Orient striker Alex Revell, who was attempting to hit the ball as hard as possible past Manuel Almunia following a cutback from Jonathan Tehoue which nutmegged Ignasi Miguel on its way to Revell's feet. Squillaci's block may have saved his side, but it was totally accidental - he had barely turned his head towards the play before the ball hit him square in the face. There were cries for handball, but they quickly died down when the defender simply fell down in the middle of his area holding his head in his hands.
Leyton Orient Vs. Arsenal: Sebastian Squillaci Accidentally Preserves Lead
A mildly dazed Squillaci has now returned to action following a brief spell on the sidelines, but for a very short while it looked as though Orient had their equaliser in the 84th minute. Instead, they nearly went further behind as Andrei Arshavin hit the outside of the post on the counterattack.
