For once, Aston Villa just can't stop scoring. After an 81st minute goal by Blackburn striker Nikola Kalinić, Ashley Young answered with a goal for Villa in the 82nd, putting the home side up 4-1 and all but sealing the victory. Stewart Downing took the ball and broke off down the right channel before cutting inside, only to be met by two Blackburn defenders. Downing provided a perfect distraction, leaving Young sitting in a pocket of space, unwatched by any of the visitors. Downing slotted it through to Young, who sent it in to the back of the net for his second of the afternoon.
Aston Villa Vs. Blackburn Rovers: Ashley Young Grabs Another For 4-1 Villa Lead
That’s four goals against Blackburn for Young this season, but then again, Villa have played Blackburn four times. The Villa faithful will be relieved that their Blackburn bogie curse has been lifted, having not beaten them in the Premier League over the past three fixtures, but easily sending them off in cup matches. The 4-1 scoreline will surely be sufficient for all three points.
