Colin Firth won Best Actor at the Academy Awards Sunday night. It’s just one of the many awards for The King’s Speech, which you have now finally agreed to go see this weekend to see what the fuss is about.
On Colin Firth’s Big Night, Let Us Remember The Real ‘Fever Pitch’
Kudos to Colin, though I prefer to remember the foppish, British actor from the film in which he was one of the great man-children of our time, Fever Pitch.
If you’re straining to remember at what point in the Drew Barrymore film that Colin shows up and say something charming, you can stop. I’m not talking about that version, I’m talking about the one that actually follows the book...
Forget that Red Sox version, this is the version that’s required viewing for any fan of a long-suffering franchise or team.
Also nice to realize in retrospect that Mark Strong, a.k.a. The Bad Guy In Every Movie Made In The Last Three Years, is prominently involved and seems quite lovely, actually.
